Week 1 Storytelling: The Town of Grime

The Town of Grime

 The Temple of Doom

This is not your ordinary town; it is a town full of mischief and abnormality. The town of Grime is not for the faint of heart, only the grimiest individuals step into this establishment and live to tell the stories. In Grime, you can find and see everything, ranging from inbred hillbillies to evil spirits. You can not be a boof individual and expect to make it in this community; a person of this stature will automatically be sanctioned to punishment by choice of the grimy locals. The story I am about to tell is not suppose to be told outside of Grime, but I am such a grimy individual, I do not take into account any threats they send my way.
It just was just another afternoon in Grime, where the sun was starting to settle and the three evil spirits started to come out. The three evil spirits went by the names of Carter, Lucha, and Spitta. These evil spirits were looking for anyone to get their hands on and manipulate their souls for absolute griminess. The evil spirits floated around the town and amongst the unaware Japanese soldiers, axe men, ogres, witches, escaped convicts, and at last, but not least the grimiest individuals of all civilians, the inbred hillbillies. No one knew of the presence of these evil spirits, but knew that some people in the town were of a much higher power of the grime. The community did not know if it came from the grimy God above, who controls all or the spirits he allows to travel and converge on those of a boof mindset. As the evil spirits roamed the countryside, they finally spotted their target in the form of one of least grimy people in Grime. This creature was a 6 foot 5 inch ogre by the name of Clopp, he came in from the boofest town of all, Top Hats. The three evil spirits became in constant pursuit of Clopp, so they could convert him into a grimy ogre.
They saw Clopp over by the slaughterhouse, and this were they made their move. Carter, Lucha, and Spitta rushed to surroundings around Clopp, where they could surround him, but he would not know where they were. Carter made the first move in approaching Clopp by leading him into the slaughterhouse, known as the Bridge, this where boof creatures went to hide and blinf their selves from the town of Grime. As they get to the front door, Carter configures himself inside of Clopp to manipulate his thoughts, in which Carter tells Clopp to get a torch off the outside of the slaughterhouse to light the slaughterhouse on fire and make all of the individuals inside evacuate. Even though, it took him some time as he was trying to fight the grime that had invaded him, he finally laid the torch to the building and burnt it down into ashes. This was only his first task of three with two more to come.
After all of this had taken place, Carter left the body of the ogre and allow Lucha to take over for the second installment of grimy to take place within Clopp. Lucha entered into the mind of the ogre and lead him to the Temple of Doom, otherwise known in the town as the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is where the individuals in Grime went to hear from the grimy preachers, Chief Peace and J. Cole, and talk to the God of grimy. Lucha led Clopp into the Temple of Doom hoping he would be able to configure a mentality of grimy in the ogre’s brain. Clopp enters the Temple of Doom, he sits down beside grimy individuals, whose names where Bernie, Chaz, Clinton, Elfrid, and Mr. Boom Boom. The sermon began as Reverend Peace and Reverend Cole talked about the essential foundation and beliefs of the grimy culture. These important aspects included not caring what other individuals thought about your actions, and living life in whole and not in a nutshell. This message was able to get through to Clopp, where he began questioning everything he had done in life and all of the thoughts running through his mind. Lucha had successfully completed the second stage of the grimy transformation of Clopp.
The last part of the extreme makeover for the ogre was in hands of Spitta. This evil spirit has been through it all, bringing much of the grime upon his self, but only to embrace it and love it. Spitta infused into Clopp and led him to the sacrificial altar, where the last objective would take place. They finally arrive to the destination, where then Spitta releases himself from the ogre onto the altar. On top of the altar, the evil spirit begins a speech, he says, “All you should want is to feel alive. Are you covered in filth? If so, embrace it and do not try to clean yourself. The filth that you reside is the filth you should want to be buried in. This is the final destination on the path we’ve lead you down inside of allowing you to walk the same path. Now is the time where you turn back to a fake life or walk towards the darkness. The choice is yours, but the latter is a choice of wisdom and knowledge.” The ogre thought to himself and replied, “After all thought and consideration, I have decided to…” In that moment, the ogre’s indecisiveness angered the God of Grimy, which led to K. Dot striking down the ogre in his tracks.
After all that had happened, it was obviously that this had to happen in this sequence ending at the sacrificial altar. This changed the mindset around the world, and everyone converted to being grimy to bow down the God of grimy, K. Dot.

Author's Note:
The main source of the story is from "Map of the Area Surrounding Our Holiday Home". This gives you a map of land with different symbols all over the map and a key underneath the map to help you with knowing what each symbol is on the map. I used the slaughterhouse, Temple of Doom, sacrificial altar, evil spirits, inbred hillbilly, ogre, witch, axeman, and unaware Japanese soldiers from this source to help build and construct my story. This gave me a foundation to build off of with the characters and setting, in which I was able to pinpoint what I wanted to do within my story.

  1. What a great narrator for the story, Cody! A visit to the town of Grime would not be the usual holiday tourist adventure, that's for sure, ha ha. Getting an extreme grime makeover on the sacrificial altar is probably not what any tourist would want to do... unless they feel the call to a life of Grime! Anyway, now you can see what happens when you take some raw ingredients for a story and then mix them together and see what happens. I hope you will have fun writing stories with their own wild mix of ingredients this semester!

I left a note on your Fav Place post about the links, and it's the same way here - so for the Tom Gauld link, you would use some kind of link text and then use the http code to create the link, like this: Map of the Area Surrounding our Holiday Home. I'm guessing from the formatting that you may have copied and pasted from Word or some other Microsoft source; that can sometimes mess up the Blogger formatting too, so if you ever want to get rid of the Microsoft formatting, there's a "Tx" button on the edit bar — just highlight whatever you pasted in, press that "Tx" button, and all the Microsoft formatting will disappear so that you can format it exactly how you want it to be in the blog.

  2. Hi Cody!
When I first started reading your Storytelling for week 1, it definitely caught my attention. You did a great job of setting the scene and making me imagine this town of “Grime”, especially with the inbred hillbillies’ line (I found that quite funny actually). Throughout your story, I kept imagining what was going to happen next to Clopp and if the “evil spirits” were going to succeed in converting him into a Grimy ogre. Overall, I like your creativity and imagination in coming up with the idea of this story, especially the names of the characters our story, while still making it interesting to read all the way through. Lastly, I thought it was cool that you decided to use a map instead of a nursery rhyme or fable, I didn't know if anyone would choose that option! Best of luck through the rest of your semester!
